Ederson addresses failed Manchester United transfer
Atalanta midfielder Ederson has addressed the collapse of his summer transfer to Manchester United, stating he remains uncertain about why the deal fell through. While reports suggested the move was abandoned due to concerns regarding a knee issue during his medical, Ederson clarified that his tests went well.
“I honestly don’t know what happened. I always had interest from other clubs, and I could’ve gone to another English side,” Ederson told reporters. “The tests went well, I don’t know what changed.” Following the failed move, the 27-year-old Brazilian decided to remain in Bergamo and signed a new contract with Atalanta.
In related transfer news, Manchester United is reportedly closing in on a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba for a fee exceeding £60 million. Baleba is viewed as a younger, athletic alternative for the club's midfield as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League campaign.
