Edessa hosts 21st Panhellenic Healthy Cities Conference
The 21st Panhellenic Conference of the National Inter-municipal Network of Healthy Cities – Health Promotion (EDDYPPY) has commenced in Edessa, Greece. The event focuses on the theme ‘Healthy Cities for Healthy Generations,’ emphasizing the role of local government in public health prevention and improving citizens' quality of life.
The conference brought together mayors, scientists, and representatives from the World Health Organization and various Greek municipalities. The opening ceremony was held at the historic Cannabourgeio Industrial Museum, a venue reopened specifically to host the proceedings.
During the event, Giorgos Manolis, the Mayor of Tempi, received an honorary distinction from EDDYPPY President Dr. Georgios Patoulis. The award recognizes Manolis’s social contributions to health promotion through the establishment of Health Citizen Service Centers (KEP Ygeias).
