Edessa: Missing 31-year-old man found dead

The search for 31-year-old Rafail-Georgios Karaitsos has ended tragically. His body was discovered in the Platani area of Edessa, Greece, following his disappearance on August 6, 2026.

Karaitsos was last seen around 3:00 PM in the village of Mesimeri. After his disappearance was reported, extensive search operations were launched, involving local authorities and the organization ‘Smile of a Child’, which had assisted the family in publicizing his disappearance.

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the deceased and are currently conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and cause of death.
