LED Streetlight Modernizations Roll Out in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Beyond

Municipal authorities in several Latin American cities are replacing traditional streetlights with LED technology. In Puebla, Mexico, the "Puebla Brilla" program upgraded 184 luminarias, extending full LED coverage for over 3,400 residents and adding maintenance of public spaces. The Dominican Republic's Edesur utility installed, replaced, and normalized nearly 10,000 LED luminarias across 12 jurisdictions, aiming to improve energy efficiency and road safety. In Santa Bárbara, Venezuela, 43 new luminarias and additional infrastructure were installed to illuminate the Las Brisas boulevard. Aguascalientes, Mexico, announced a public tender for 2,500 white‑LED luminarias to replace damaged units and upgrade the urban lighting system. In the San Luciano neighbourhood of Rosario, Argentina, the municipal public‑space department added new lighting arms and upgraded existing fixtures as part of a broader infrastructure improvement plan. Finally, Esmeraldas, Ecuador, inaugurated a new LED streetlight system with 948 luminarias, benefitting more than 6,000 inhabitants and enhancing nighttime visibility and security. These projects collectively target better public safety, reduced energy consumption, and modernized urban environments.
