Edgar Copa launches Aerolíneas Go to connect Potosí

Mining entrepreneur Edgar Copa is launching Aerolíneas Go, a new airline aimed at improving air connectivity in Bolivia, specifically targeting the department of Potosí. The project is a private investment intended to support the local mining and tourism sectors by providing direct flights to a region that currently lacks them.

The airline plans to start with an initial fleet of four aircraft. The first plane, a 90-passenger vessel, is already located at the El Alto International Airport. The company is currently undergoing the necessary licensing and authorization processes with the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC).

While the airline's central office will be located in La Paz, its primary operations will focus on Potosí. The company also intends to establish a hangar at the Capitán Rojas Airport in Potosí for aircraft maintenance and storage. Minister of Public Works Mauricio Zamora noted that the initiative aligns with the government's open skies policy.
