Edgar Ochoa rejects confrontational agenda for Cusco
Edgar Ochoa Pezo, a candidate for the Regional Government of Cusco, has distanced himself from the ideological positions of his former political ally, Verónika Mendoza, leader of Nuevo Perú. Ochoa emphasized that the Cusco region requires institutional stability and technical consensus rather than political polarization.
Ochoa stated that constant conflict has caused the region to lose valuable years and millions of soles in public investment. He proposed a roadmap based on decentralized technical dialogue to advance stalled infrastructure and mining projects, such as the Chincheroy International Airport and the Antonio Lorena hospital, aiming to attract private capital and support moderate voters.
