Edge Early Learning Higgins will remain closed until at least November 17, 2026, following an extended suspension by the Children’s Education and Care Assurance (CECA). The regulator extended the closure after the centre failed to meet the National Quality Standard across three consecutive assessment and rating cycles without demonstrating improvement.

The suspension follows an initial emergency closure on July 16, which was triggered by a serious medical incident involving a child on June 26. CECA cited concerns regarding the centre’s response to the medical emergency, immediate risks to the health and safety of children, and the facility's previous compliance history as grounds for the extended suspension.
