EDGE Group completes acquisition of Brazil's AKAER

EDGE Group has finalized its acquisition of the Brazilian aerospace engineering firm AKAER, following the fulfillment of all standard closing conditions. The deal follows an initial agreement signed in July.

As part of the transaction structure, SIATT will retain a minority stake in AKAER to ensure the company maintains its status as a Strategic Defense Company (EED) in Brazil. The acquisition is intended to strengthen EDGE’s presence in the Brazilian defense ecosystem and bolster national technological sovereignty.

Based in São José dos Campos, AKAER provides a multidisciplinary engineering team capable of managing the full product lifecycle, from initial design to industrialization. The companies are already collaborating on the development and industrialization of unmanned systems.
