Edge Growth and Nexedge Capital secure significant new funding

Edge Growth has announced the first close of its Edge Impact Fund (EIF) at R350 million (US$21.9 million). Managed by the firm’s impact investing arm, the fund targets tech-enabled growth-stage companies in South Africa and other African markets. The fund provides capital through venture debt, term loans, and revenue-based financing to companies in sectors such as fintech, health tech, and green tech, aiming to avoid excessive equity dilution. Edge Growth seeks a final close of R750 million by December 2027.

In India, wealth management startup Nexedge Capital has raised $20 million in its maiden funding round. Co-led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Elev8 Venture Partners, the capital will be used to enhance the company’s technology stack, expand its network of senior bankers, and grow its presence across India. The startup, founded by former 360 ONE Wealth executives, provides bespoke financial services to high-net-worth individuals and families and reports over $3 billion in assets under management.
