Edge of Memories set for 2026 release despite Midgar Studio closure

The action RPG ‘Edge of Memories’ is still scheduled for release in 2026, despite the recent closure of its developer, Midgar Studio. The studio was shut down in July following a court-ordered liquidation triggered by financial difficulties within its parent group, Nacon.

According to a statement, the closure was due to the wider group’s financial restructuring and was not related to the quality of the game or the performance of the development team. While the studio has officially closed, a dedicated team is currently working to complete the technical aspects of the project, including polishing the PC and console versions and implementing feedback from previous demos.

Creative work on the title is reportedly finished. ‘Edge of Memories’ is set to launch on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
