Edge Wallet reports Zendesk breach exposed user emails
Edge Wallet has notified users of a data breach involving its former support provider, Zendesk. The incident exposed email addresses used to contact the Edge support team between September 2018 and May 2024.
Edge stated that the breach did not compromise Edge wallets, private keys, wallet data, or user funds. Because the company stopped using Zendesk after May 2024, the exposure was limited to information shared with the support team. The company emphasized that its wallets operate via mobile applications and private keys remain on users’ devices, preventing attackers from accessing funds through Edge’s servers.
Despite the safety of funds, Edge warned that the exposed email addresses increase the risk of phishing and impersonation attempts. Users are urged to remain vigilant against suspicious links, attachments, or requests for personal information.
