Edgeconnex drives AI-related data center investments in Norway
The global artificial intelligence boom is driving massive infrastructure investments in Norway, with data centers emerging as new cornerstone industries for local communities. In Fyresdal, American data center giant Edgeconnex is spearheading a project estimated by the municipality to cost over 30 billion NOK.
To build local support, Edgeconnex has engaged in community outreach, including sponsoring a large-scale local festival and supporting youth sports. This trend of corporate social responsibility is being mirrored elsewhere; for instance, Aker-owned Nscale has recently recruited a community engagement manager to oversee its large-scale development in Narvik.
