Edhi Centre in Karachi robbed of Rs6.5 million in armed heist

On a Friday afternoon in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area, four armed men on two motorcycles entered an Edhi Centre after staff had withdrawn cash from a private bank for salary distribution. The suspects seized more than Rs6.5 million and fled the scene.

Police arrived quickly, recorded eyewitness statements and began reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered the Inspector General of Police to conduct a detailed inquiry, while Interior Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar urged the use of modern surveillance tools to locate and arrest the robbers and recover the stolen funds.
