Edi Rama addresses Becchetti arbitration and Albcontrol funds

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed the Parliament regarding the Becchetti arbitration case, clarifying his stance on the matter. Rama stated that while he has not declared non-recognition of the arbitration decision, he asserted that businessman Francesco Becchetti will receive “zero lekë” from the Albanian state.

Rama refuted opposition claims that Becchetti had already received 100 million euros, maintaining that no funds have been paid to the subject thus far. He noted that legal processes are ongoing, including a criminal case outside of Albania, and that the subject will face justice through relevant arbitration channels.

Additionally, the Prime Minister addressed the frozen funds belonging to Albcontrol. Rama expressed confidence that these funds, which he described as having been unjustly withheld, will be returned to the Albanian state treasury in due course.
