Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is conducting a visit to the United States to participate in the United Nations General Assembly. During his trip, Rama met with the Albanian community in Michigan. Addressing the meeting, he stated that Albania is no longer just a place of survival but a 'land of hope,' noting that rising expectations among citizens reflect a 'new Albania.' He also emphasized the importance of the Albanian diaspora and progress toward European Union integration.
Domestically, Rama has reaffirmed Albania's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and EU membership, aiming to conclude negotiations by 2027. He highlighted economic indicators, including a reduction in poverty and increased use of renewable energy. Additionally, the government is continuing the 'Prania Besnike' initiative, a weekly process where officials report on community hearings and citizen complaints, which have seen an increase in participation and reported cases across various regions.
