EDII launches Eco-Action Learning Centre in Bengaluru

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, has launched the Eco-Action Learning Centre (ELC) in Bengaluru to empower rural women through entrepreneurship and technology-enabled skill development.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional skill acquisition and formal enterprise creation. By providing hands-on training, access to machinery, and business support, the program helps women transform indigenous knowledge and local resources into scalable, income-generating businesses.

To date, the initiative has trained more than 2,000 rural women, with over 600 individuals having started new enterprises or expanded existing ones across the Bengaluru and Manchar centres. The program focuses on overcoming systemic barriers such as limited financial literacy and market access to foster sustainable livelihoods and grassroots economic development.
