Edin Džeko responds to boy's drawing of him praying

Seven-year-old Uroš Preradović from Banja Luka has gained regional attention after drawing football icon Edin Džeko during a religious studies class. The drawing, which depicted Džeko praying for a chance to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team again, was created following the player's emotional departure from the national squad.

After the boy's mother, Maja Preradović, shared the drawing on social media, the story reached Džeko. The legendary striker responded with a personal video message to Uroš, praising the artwork. In a further gesture, Džeko provided the boy with tickets to an upcoming national team match against Romania, allowing Uroš to celebrate his upcoming birthday at the stadium.

Uroš, who has become a local sensation and is now nicknamed ‘Džeko’ by his schoolmates, expressed immense joy at the interaction, noting that the excitement made it difficult for him to sleep.
