Bosnia and Herzegovina to host Sweden as Edin Džeko announces international retirement

Bosnia and Herzegovina will face Sweden in a UEFA Nations League Group B4 match at Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica on October 2. The fixture carries immense emotional weight as it marks the international retirement of Edin Džeko, the nation's all-time leading scorer with 73 goals in 151 appearances.

To honor Džeko, the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina has organized a humanitarian initiative. Fans are encouraged to bring plush toys to the stadium, which will be collected after Džeko's farewell lap and donated to children's homes across the country in collaboration with the Pomozi.ba association.

On the pitch, Bosnia and Herzegovina enters the match with four points following a draw with Poland and a 4-2 victory over Romania. Sweden currently leads the group with two consecutive wins. Bosnia's coach, Sergej Barbarez, expressed confidence in his squad's recent progress and noted that Džeko's presence in the locker room provides significant emotional motivation for the team.
