Edinburgh City Council launches City Plan 2040 consultation
Edinburgh City Council has launched a ‘Call for Ideas’ consultation to assist in the early stages of developing City Plan 2040. The initiative aims to address the needs of the capital’s growing population and both existing and new residents.
Planning Convener Cllr Joan Griffiths is inviting those living and working in the city to provide proposals regarding new buildings, land reuse, and necessary facilities or services. The consultation seeks input on housing needs, community spaces for sports or food growing, and improvements to local transport and accessibility. The goal of the plan is to strengthen communities and ensure the wellbeing of residents by creating attractive areas with accessible shops, schools, green spaces, and healthcare facilities.
