Edinburgh Festival Fringe announces artist bursaries and performance updates

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has announced the fifth year of the ‘Keep it Fringe’ fund to support artists ahead of the 2027 festival. The initiative provides £2,500 bursaries to help performers manage financial pressures, such as accommodation costs, to ensure diverse representation at the event.

Arts Council England has contributed an initial £80,000 to support English-based artists applying for the fund. While the current funding specifically targets those from England, the Fringe Society intends to expand fundraising efforts to include more artists from across the UK.

In recent performances at the festival, comedian David O'Doherty presented his show ‘At This Stage’ at the Gordon Aikman Theatre. The performance featured a blend of musical numbers on a miniature keyboard and autobiographical storytelling reflecting on his 50th year.
