Edinburgh Festival Fringe features new musical and solo performances

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe features several notable performances, including Keith Alessi’s fifth annual one-man show, ‘Tomatoes Tried to Kill Me but Banjos Saved My Life’. The production explores Alessi’s personal history, his relationship with his family, and his journey through cancer treatment using the banjo as a symbol of rebirth. Notably, Alessi donates artist fees and a significant portion of proceeds to various charities, with current funds being directed to Summerhall.

Another featured production is ‘The Real Kyle McCarren’, a rock and roll musical presented as gig theatre. Produced by Avalon and created by a Tony and Emmy award-winning team, the show follows the story of Andy Roninson and his late bandmate, Kyle McCarren. The musical explores the differing perspectives of those who knew McCarren through a series of musical numbers.
