Edinburgh International Film Festival and Fringe 2026 Reveal Lineups

The Edinburgh International Film Festival 2026, opening on 13 August, has announced additional guests and film premieres. Highlights include the UK premiere of *The Incomer* starring Domhnall Gleeson, Grant O'Rourke, Gayle Rankin and John Hannah, and the closing‑night film *Bel* with director Lou Lockwood and contributor Leah McAleer. World premieres feature *Borges and Me* (Marc Turtletaub, Alan Cumming, Fionn Whitehead), *Northbound* (Bruce Dern), *Queen at Sea* (Tom Courtenay, Anna Calder‑Smith), *Extra Geography* (Marni Duggan), *These Violent Delights* (Kayla‑Maree Tarantolo) and *The Education of Jane Cumming*.

The Edinburgh Fringe 2026 runs from 7‑30 August, the world’s largest arts and comedy festival. Recommended shows include stand‑up by Taskmaster star Rosie Jones, a jazz set “Solo from the Pit”, and the musical comedy “The Singer” co‑written by KT Tunstall and Cora Bissett at the Traverse Theatre. New Scottish writer Eilidh Loan’s comedy “Cathy”, featuring Elaine C Smith and a supporting cast, also debuts during the festival.
