Isaac Oliveira Scott sentenced to six‑and‑a‑half years for drug trafficking and firearms offences
Isaac Oliveira Scott, a 29‑year‑old from Victoria, British Columbia, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to five charges following his extradition from Germany. The charges include one count of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, and three firearms‑related offences.
The investigation began in December 2022 when the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region uncovered an inter‑provincial dark‑web network that used cryptocurrency to distribute illegal drugs through Canada Post. A February 2024 search of a Lower Mainland residence seized stolen firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, fraudulent IDs and cash. After leaving Canada in May 2025, Scott was arrested by German authorities in February 2026, extradited to Canada on 1 April 2026, and sentenced on 14 July 2026.
RCMP federal policing spokesperson Cpl. James Bennett said the investigation was “methodical and thorough” and that the evidence against Scott was “considerable”.
