Edinburgh music festival disorder leads to eight arrests
Eight people, including a 12-year-old boy, have been arrested following disorder at the FLY music festival in Edinburgh. The incidents occurred over a weekend at Princes Street Gardens, where groups of youths attempted to scale perimeter fencing to gain unauthorized entry to the event.
Police Scotland reported that those involved engaged in assault, vandalism, breach of the peace, and drug misuse. The unrest also led to trespassing on the railway line leading to Waverley Station and caused disruptions to local bus services.
Superintendent Neil Wilson described the behavior as ‘unacceptable and dangerous,’ noting that while most attendees participated without incident, others caused violence and intimidation. Investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to identify further individuals involved in the disorder.
