Edison Wang and Youcef Lattafi achieve chess milestones

Chess players Edison Wang and Youcef Lattafi achieved significant milestones during recent major tournaments in eastern Canada.

At the Quebec Open Championship (COQ) in Montreal, 12-year-old Edison Wang secured a first-place tie in the 960 tournament and finished fourth in the open section, tying with Grandmaster Alexandre Lesiège. His performance earned him a total scholarship of $1,700.

At the Canadian Open Championship (COC) in Ottawa, Youcef Lattafi finished in 20th place with a 5.5/9 score, an achievement that earned him the title of National Master.
