EDITION Hotels opens first African property in Cape Town

EDITION Hotels has expanded into Africa with the opening of The Cape Town EDITION, located at the V&A Waterfront in South Africa. The 142-room luxury property overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain, and the city's historic harbor.

Designed by architecture firm Neri&Hu in collaboration with local partners, the building features an exterior composed of more than six million individually laid bricks. A central atrium, known as ‘The Drum’, houses a spiral staircase that leads to an outdoor observation platform providing panoramic views of the harbor and city.

The hotel offers various accommodations, ranging from standard guestrooms to a penthouse exceeding 2,500 square feet. Amenities include a five-treatment-room spa, a 24-hour gym, a heated rooftop pool, and event spaces such as a ballroom capable of hosting up to 200 people.

Dining is led by Executive Chef Phil Carmichael, with venues including the signature restaurant Shale, which focuses on regional wines and South African ingredients, and the rooftop venue EAVE.
