Bienal do Livro de São Paulo hosts largest edition in history

The 28th Bienal Internacional do Livro de São Paulo, held at the Distrito Anhembi, has become the largest edition in the event's history. Featuring 269 exhibitors and 350 national and international authors, the festival has an investment of R$ 36.5 million and an expected attendance of over 700,000 visitors. Spain is the featured guest country, hosting a dedicated 500 square meter space.

Key highlights include the popularity of author Raphael Montes, whose presence drew significant crowds, and the success of fantasy author Ariani Castelo, whose work ‘Coração de Cristal Partido’ saw multiple print runs despite a market trend toward erotic romance. The event also served as a platform for social inclusion, such as the ‘Clube das Palavras’ project from the Fumacê community in Rio de Janeiro, which brought peripheral authors to the national stage.

Other notable participants include entrepreneur Rick Chesther, who discussed the link between knowledge and professional opportunities. The event continues to showcase a diverse range of genres, from sociology and terror to entrepreneurship and young adult fantasy.
