Edling residents protest planned mobile phone masts

A special council meeting has been scheduled in Edling to address the construction of 50-meter-high mobile phone masts in the Linden and Reischlhilgen areas. Despite the upcoming presentation by the operator, Telefonica, and the developer, ATC Germany Holdings GmbH, construction has already begun at the Reischlhilgen site.

Local residents have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the project. While the district office has reportedly advised the municipality to approve the sites, the local council has criticized the lack of detailed information provided over the past three years. Although such masts are classified as 'privileged construction projects'—meaning they can be authorized without direct municipal consent—the project remains subject to the protection of public interests, including nature and landscape conservation.
