Edmonton Elks aim to clinch season series against Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Edmonton Elks (7-3) aim to maintain their position at the top of the West Division this Friday with a home game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5-4). A victory would extend Edmonton's lead over Winnipeg to six points and secure the season series tiebreaker for the Elks, following their 23-18 road win in June.

Both teams enter the matchup following recent victories. Edmonton's quarterback Cody Fajardo recently recorded 301 passing yards and a touchdown in a 42-12 win over Toronto. The Elks' defense has also shown strength, highlighted by JJ Ross's two interceptions and a touchdown return in their previous outing.

Winnipeg looks to leverage the performance of running back Brady Oliveira, who has averaged seven yards per carry over his last three games. While Winnipeg's defense leads the league against the pass, it currently ranks last against the run, a vulnerability Edmonton may look to exploit through their ground attack.
