Edmonton Elks face injury losses ahead of Labour Day Classic

The Edmonton Elks face significant roster changes ahead of their Labour Day Classic matchup against the Calgary Stampeders. The Elks will be missing key players Javon Leake and rookie receiver T. J. Luther, both of whom have been placed on the six-game injured list due to hamstring issues. To compensate, the team will see the return of offensive lineman Coulter Woodmansey and free-agent addition Joe Robustelli.

As the teams prepare for the matchup at McMahon Stadium, the focus remains on turnover margins. Edmonton currently leads the CFL in forced turnovers with 33, while Calgary has forced 26. The game pits Calgary’s league-leading scoring average of 36.9 points per game against Edmonton’s defense, which has allowed a league-low 25.4 points per game.
