Edmonton Oilers players to miss training camp due to injuries

The Edmonton Oilers face significant roster challenges heading into their upcoming training camp due to a series of injuries. The team confirmed that four key players will be unavailable for the start of camp.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen and winger Matthew Savoie both sustained injuries during off-season training sessions. Reports suggest Andersen could be sidelined until late October, leaving the Oilers to rely on the tandem of Tristan Jarry and Devon Levi for the early part of the season.

Additionally, forward Mattias Janmark and defenseman Alec Regula will miss camp as they continue to recover from medical procedures performed at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. The loss of these players, particularly Janmark and Savoie who play critical penalty-killing roles, may prompt management to explore the free-agent market for depth.
