Edmunds: October and November are the best months to buy a used car

Edmunds' analysis of its sales data indicates that the most advantageous time to purchase a used car is in the fall, with October and especially November offering the deepest discounts. The company explains that automakers aim to clear inventory for new models, prompting end‑of‑year promotions that lower used‑car prices.

Director of insights Ivan Drury said, "Seasonal price reductions have been holding true… the best discounts still occur near the end of the year, in October and November." He added that Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is the top holiday for deals, while weekdays in November may provide quieter dealership environments for buyers.
