Edna Dávalos proposes cultural heritage status for Parras Grape and Wine Fair

Deputy Edna Ileana Dávalos Elizondo and the “Alianza Coahuila” parliamentary group have introduced an initiative to declare the Grape and Wine Fair of Parras de la Fuente as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State of Coahuila.

The proposal aims to protect the historical, cultural, and social value of the celebration, which preserves the viticultural legacy of the region. The fair, which celebrated its 79th edition in 2026, serves as a significant economic driver for local producers, artisans, hotels, and restaurants. The most recent edition recorded an attendance of 93,809 people.

Beyond its economic impact, the initiative emphasizes that the fair represents the collective memory of Parras, a municipality recognized as a “Pueblo Mágico” since 2004. The goal is to ensure that the traditions and knowledge passed down through generations are recognized and valued by future generations.
