Edo Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa pledges church support and cites security gains

Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Edo-Delta. During the 2026 Diocesan Harvest and Lay Preachers Recognition Service in Benin City, Idahosa pledged to assist in the completion of the ongoing Bishop’s Chapel project.

Separately, Idahosa highlighted the impact of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s security policies on the state's economic recovery. Speaking during a visit from the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta, the Deputy Governor stated that the administration's focus on the SHINE Agenda has reduced crime, including kidnapping and cultism. He noted that these security measures are essential for fostering investment and ensuring safety for farmers, which is critical to achieving food sufficiency in the region.
