Edo State begins construction of Iguobazuwa General Hospital

The Edo State government has commenced construction of a general hospital in Iguobazuwa, located within the Ovia South West Local Government Area. Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa performed the groundbreaking ceremony on behalf of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The facility is designed as an ultra-modern, two-story secondary healthcare and referral center. It is intended to serve residents of the Ovia South West and Ovia North East areas, reducing the necessity for patients to travel to Benin City for medical treatment.

According to project contractors, the hospital will include a pharmacy, a mortuary, and residential quarters for medical staff. The inclusion of staff housing is intended to facilitate round-the-clock medical services and 24-hour rotations.
