Edo State signs MoU to establish Edo Air airline

The Edo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Express Airline and KDN Aero to establish a proposed state-owned carrier, Edo Air. The agreement follows a fact-finding mission to China by a seven-member state delegation in September 2026.

Governor Monday Okpebholo stated that the initiative aims to go beyond air transportation by creating jobs, boosting tourism, and attracting investment to the state. The project is intended to improve air connectivity, expand business opportunities, and make air travel more accessible for residents.

While the partnership marks a significant step toward making the airline operational, specific details regarding the launch date, fleet size, route network, and financial commitments have not yet been disclosed.
