Edoardo Bennato: Special edition of ‘La Torre di Babele’ released

Sony Music is releasing a special collector's edition of Edoardo Bennato’s cult album, ‘La Torre di Babele’, to commemorate its 50th anniversary. The remastered vinyl is available in two formats: one featuring an autographed poster exclusive to the Sony Music Store, and another with a non-autographed poster available in all retail stores.

The reissue features a metallic cover and high-quality 24Bit/192kHz audio remastered from the original tapes. The accompanying poster reproduces the album's iconic artwork, designed by Bennato himself, which depicts the technological evolution of humanity through the development of weaponry, forming a metaphorical Tower of Babel.

Originally published in 1976, ‘La Torre di Babele’ is considered a pivotal work in Bennato’s career, characterized by his signature sarcasm and irony. The artist noted that the album intended to explore the biblical concept of humanity’s blind pursuit of arms and its innate propensity for war.
