Edoardo Leo stars in climate‑themed play “Blu” at Taormina Theatre
Actor Edoardo Leo will headline “Blu”, a new original production by Planetaria and the Fondazione Taormina Arte Sicilia. The play premieres on 17 September at 21:00 in the Ancient Theatre of Taormina as part of the International Taormina Arte Festival. Written by Filippo Gentili and Giulio Boccaletti and directed by Ferdinando Ceriani, the show blends theatre, music and scientific communication to portray the Mediterranean as both the cradle of civilization and a privileged observatory of climate change. Co‑stars include internationally‑renowned climatologist Giulio Boccaletti and multi‑instrumentalist Giovanna Famulari. Produced and curated by Superhumans, the performance aims to turn data and knowledge into emotion, inviting audiences to reflect on the planet’s major challenges. Artistic director Simona Celi said the production “allows theatre to discuss fundamental issues like climate change and its influence on us.”
