EDP CEO Miguel Stilwell to step down in 2027
Miguel Stilwell, the CEO of Portuguese energy company EDP, has announced that he will not seek re-election for a new term. He is expected to depart his position following the company’s general shareholders' meeting in 2027.
EDP has officially launched a succession process to identify a new leader. The search will be overseen by the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee with the assistance of an independent international executive search firm. The company stated that the process is open to both internal and external candidates.
Stilwell has been with EDP for over 25 years and has served two terms as CEO. António Lobo Xavier, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Supervision, credited Stilwell’s leadership with driving notable company growth and preparing the organization for future energy sector challenges.
