EDP launches fourth Entama entrepreneurship program in Portugal's northern municipalities

Energias de Portugal (EDP) has opened applications for the fourth edition of its Entama program, an Iberian initiative that supports local entrepreneurship. The call, running from 1 August to 13 September, targets entrepreneurs developing projects in eleven northern Portuguese municipalities: Amares, Amarante, Arcos de Valdevez, Boticas, Lamego, Montalegre, Ponte da Barca, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Terras de Bouro, Vieira do Minho and Vila Pouca de Aguiar.

Created in 2019, Entama aims to stimulate economic activity, create jobs and counter depopulation in rural and semi‑rural areas. Over its three previous editions it supported 14 projects and generated roughly 30 jobs. The programme combines financial investment, mentorship and partnerships with local entities, and is part of EDP’s global social‑impact strategy, EDP Y.E.S. (You Empower Society), which plans to invest €300 million by 2030 to back more than 500 CSR initiatives worldwide.
