eDreams reports lower quarterly profit amid investment phase
eDreams reported a net profit of 200,000 euros for the first quarter of its 2027 fiscal year, ending June 30. This represents a significant decrease from the 13.6 million euros earned during the same period the previous year.
The company attributed the decline to an active investment phase, which includes higher customer acquisition costs and resources allocated toward geographic expansion and new product categories. These efforts aim to accelerate the growth of its Prime subscription business.
Despite the drop in profit, the Prime subscription service remains a primary growth driver, reaching 8.1 million subscribers, an 8% increase year-over-year. Total revenue for the quarter was 165.5 million euros, a 4% decrease compared to the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA stood at 28.9 million euros, while Cash EBITDA was 23 million euros, both reflecting a 41% decline. The company noted that these results exceeded market estimates and align with its planned investment strategy.
