Edremit hosts inaugural Asma Davul Festival

The inaugural Asma Davul Festival was held in Edremit, Turkey, as part of the celebrations marking the 104th anniversary of the district's liberation. Organized through a collaboration between the Edremit Municipality and the Balıkesir Roma Associations Federation, the event took place at Akçay Cumhuriyet Square.

The festival featured 100 drum and rhythm artists participating from various cities across Turkey and from abroad. The performers played in unison, emphasizing themes of unity, brotherhood, and shared values.

Oktay Sümertaş, President of the Balıkesir Roma Associations Federation, expressed satisfaction with achieving this first-of-its-kind event in Turkey and noted ambitions to develop the festival into a traditional annual organization synonymous with Edremit.
