Edremit Municipality relocates construction site to Akçay

Edremit Municipality is relocating its municipal construction site from the Zeytinli neighborhood to a new 14-decare area in the Dallas region of Akçay. The move aims to reduce vehicle density and noise in residential areas by moving waste collection and cleaning vehicle storage outside of the city center.

The new facility will serve as a central hub for environmental services and waste management. It will feature systems to recycle construction debris and garden waste, processing materials to make them reusable.

Mayor Mehmet Ertaş noted that the implementation of new semi-trailer vehicles and intermediate transfer systems has already resulted in significant operational efficiencies, including a daily saving of approximately 500 liters of diesel fuel.
