Edremit to host 3rd FestOlive olive oil tasting festival

The 3rd Edremit Olive Oil Tasting Festival, known as ‘FestOlive’, is scheduled to take place in Güre from October 9 to 11. Hosted by the Edremit Chamber of Commerce and the Edremit Chamber of Commerce and Exchange, the event aims to promote Edremit olive oil, which holds European Union geographical indication status.

Ahmet Çetin, President of the Edremit Chamber of Commerce, stated that the festival aims to break a Guinness World Record currently held by Spain by facilitating olive oil tastings for 13,000 people. Due to a high-yield season, Edremit expects to produce approximately 70,000 tons of olives and 14,000 tons of olive oil.

The festival will bring together producers, chefs, academics, and enthusiasts to showcase fresh pressed oils and various olive varieties, blending gastronomy, culture, and art.
