Edson Alvarez left out of West Ham squad amid transfer speculation

Mexican midfielder Edson Alvarez continues to face uncertainty regarding his future at West Ham United after being omitted from the matchday squad for their 1-1 draw against Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. Despite recently returning to fitness and appearing in a behind-closed-doors friendly, Alvarez was not included in the selection for the Friday fixture.

West Ham secured a point through a goal from Jarrod Bowen following an earlier penalty by Nicolas Madsen. The continued absence of Alvarez, who has struggled for competitive minutes this season following a loan spell with Fenerbahce, has led to speculation that the 28-year-old may seek a transfer during the upcoming January window.
