Eduardo Bolsonaro outlines foreign policy and diplomatic shifts

Eduardo Bolsonaro has outlined several foreign policy shifts that would occur if his brother, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, is elected President of Brazil. Key proposals include moving the Brazilian embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and integrating Brazil into the ‘Shield of the Americas’, a security cooperation alliance led by Donald Trump.

Additionally, Eduardo Bolsonaro threatened a major overhaul of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty). He stated he has ‘mapped’ ambassadors who served during the Lula administration and warned that civil servants who ‘sabotaged’ the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro would face retaliation. He specifically mentioned the potential removal of the Brazilian ambassador to Spain as an example of this intended ‘cleanup’ to restore the ministry's credibility.
