Eduardo Cabello re-elected to lead CGT San Juan

Eduardo Cabello has been re-elected to lead the CGT San Juan for another four-year term. During a plenary session, 54 out of 64 eligible unions supported the single list headed by Cabello, a leader from the UOCRA.

The election took place amidst internal friction, as the Mesa Intersindical—a group critical of Cabello’s leadership—withdrew from the plenary before the vote. The proceedings were overseen by Héctor Daer, the CGT national secretary of the Interior, who officially proclaimed the new authorities.

Mirna Moral, general secretary of the Sindicato Empleados de Comercio, expressed support for the unified list, noting that the current labor landscape requires a strong, united front. Moral highlighted significant challenges facing union social works (obras sociales), including the rising costs of medical supplies and medications, insufficient contributions, and the impact of informal employment on funding.
