Bolivia raids properties of former Minister Eduardo Del Castillo
Bolivian authorities have conducted multiple raids on properties linked to former Minister of Government Eduardo Del Castillo in La Paz. The operations, targeting locations in Sopocachi and Miraflores, resulted in the seizure of digital devices and various documents.
The investigation follows allegations from Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastián Marset, who reportedly claimed to have paid $500,000 monthly to Del Castillo and former Attorney General Roger Mariaca to facilitate his operations in Bolivia. Authorities are also investigating claims that properties owned by Del Castillo were used as money collection centers and bot farms.
While Del Castillo remains a fugitive, the investigation has led to the detention of former Attorney General Roger Mariaca. Minister of Government Marco Antonio Oviedo has confirmed that the search for Del Castillo is ongoing and has dismissed rumors regarding his potential escape to Peru.
