Eduardo Duhalde claims US planned 2002 coup

Former Argentine President Eduardo Duhalde has claimed that the United States was planning a coup to overthrow his government in 2002.

In an interview with Ámbito Financiero, Duhalde recounted the challenges of his administration, which began in January 2002 following a period of extreme political instability where four presidents served within a single week. He stated that he was informed of the plot by the United States Ambassador, who sent a message through a senior embassy official indicating that a coup was being prepared to remove him from power.
