Eduardo Issac “N” linked to process for feminicide of medical student in Jalisco

A judge in Jalisco has formally linked Eduardo Issac “N” to a criminal proceeding for the feminicide of 22-year-old medical student Karla Margarita Pérez Jiménez. The defendant will remain in preventive detention at the Puente Grande penitentiary for two years while investigations continue.

According to the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office, the victim, originally from Guanajuato, was reported missing on September 14 after requesting a digital platform transportation service. Investigations indicate the driver, operating a motorcycle, diverted the route toward a remote area in the Las Agujas village in Zapopan. The victim's body was discovered on September 16.

During the hearing, the defense presented a version involving a purported robbery to serve as an alibi, a claim the state prosecutor dismissed as a “coartada” (alibi). The court has established a three-month period for the completion of complementary investigations.
